We kicked off a packed weekend of weddings with Kristin & Nick at Youngberg Hill Inn & Vineyards on Friday. The very first time we met they mentioned that their wedding guests would be very hip to the photobooth, and they did not disappoint! Here are few highlights. You can see all of the photobooth images on our Facebook Page. Enjoy!
This casual session on a recent summer evening was a blast! You can’t really go wrong with windswept hair on the beach in our book. Kristin & Nick were so relaxed and joyful together, we can’t wait to photograph their wedding at Youngberg Hill this weekend!
The modern & rustic barn at the Kelley Farm was an amazing backdrop for Lynn & Zach’s June wedding. A big thanks to Boone Rodriguez for bringing his skills up to Washington & shooting this with me. We had a blast documenting this celebration & getting to know Lynn & Zach, and their friends & family!
Boating under a freeway overpass to a secluded lagoon on a perfect Seattle evening (while rescuing stray-ducklings), was a perfect way to get to know Casie & Ian! After rowing around with them for a few hours, we are really looking forward to their wedding in the mountains east of Seattle this Fall.
Lisa & Matthew travelled from San Francisco all the way to the top of Mt. Hood (literally—Matthew & his groomsmen almost made it to the summit the day before the wedding) to celebrate their marriage with family and friends. We photograph quite a few weddings at Timberline Lodge, and this one is the winner for the most incredible men’s-detail: Matthew commissioned a silver-smith in Montana to create he and the groomsmen’s belt buckles with the Timberline logo! These gentlemen perfectly pulled off the rodeo-buckle/fine-suit combo. Trend-alert!
We were pleasantly surprised this week to find out that the Wedding Chicks featured Stephanie & Brandon’s Mt. Hood Organic Farms wedding on their blog of all things beautiful this week. Actually, we weren’t that surprised, since this was such a lovely couple at one of the most amazing venues in Oregon.
Thanks to Laurie, Dan, and the Portland Fire Bureau for giving us this opportunity to make some unique images! At Dan’s suggestion, we decided to drop by our local neighborhood fire station on our way to catch the sunset on Sauvie Island. No big deal. I’m really looking forward to this fun couple’s wedding in the foothils of Mt. St. Helens this weekend!
Kristen is a dear friend of ours. She’s as close to family as you can get without actually being related. Her impeccable taste is responsible for some of the best music to cross my ears over the past decade, and her card-making skills are second to none. She also gave us one of the most thoughtful wedding gifts we could have ever received.
We were a bit sad when she moved to England, but then she met Tom! It’s no surprise that she would marry such a rad guy. For a few years, we heard reports of a guy who loves travel & adventure, with a healthy-respect for Volkswagen camper-vans. When we finally met, Tom, with his charming smile & easy-going manner was as awesome as expected. Plus, our son idolized him for his vast knowledge of British children’s television programs.
These two spent a lot of time traveling around Europe together over the past few years, so it was only fitting for them to have a travel-themed wedding celebration. Kristen & Tom, we are so excited for all of your future adventures together!
April snows were plentiful this year, turning Katie & Daniel’s Spring wedding into a white wonderland. We started the day with photos around Timberline Lodge, then headed up to 7,000 ft. on the mountain for their ceremony and reception in the quaint & gorgeously-rustic Silcox Hut.
There are so many phenomenal locations for portrait session in and around Portland, we sometimes forget that keeping it local works just as well. Plus, it’s a total bonus when our clients are in the neighborhood! For this session, we started at Rachel & Kori’s North Portland home. After photos with their pets at the house, we walked to one of their favorite neighborhood spots, The Box Social (which also happens to be one our favorite places to grab a cocktail), taking advantage of the great light & buildings along the way. An evening well-spent, indeed!
