Lisa + Matthew / Timberline Lodge Wedding

Lisa & Matthew travelled from San Francisco all the way to the top of Mt. Hood (literally—Matthew & his groomsmen almost made it to the summit the day before the wedding) to celebrate their marriage with family and friends. We photograph quite a few weddings at Timberline Lodge, and this one is the winner for the most incredible men’s-detail: Matthew commissioned a silver-smith in Montana to create he and the groomsmen’s belt buckles with the Timberline logo! These gentlemen perfectly pulled off the rodeo-buckle/fine-suit combo. Trend-alert!

Mt. Hood Organic Farms Wedding Feature

wc_as_seen_2013We were pleasantly surprised this week to find out that the Wedding Chicks featured Stephanie & Brandon’s Mt. Hood Organic Farms wedding on their blog of all things beautiful this week. Actually, we weren’t that surprised, since this was such a lovely couple at one of the most amazing venues in Oregon.

Part of what made this wedding so special was the couple’s commitment to a local & sustainable approach to the entire wedding. Specifically, spending all Summer growing their own produce for the dinner, favors, and even their signature cocktails! Click here to check out their unique engagement photographs from their farm on Sauvie Island.

Laurie + Dan / Portland Fire Station Engagement

Thanks to Laurie, Dan, and the Portland Fire Bureau for giving us this opportunity to make some unique images! At Dan’s suggestion, we decided to drop by our local neighborhood fire station on our way to catch the sunset on Sauvie Island. No big deal. I’m really looking forward to this fun couple’s wedding in the foothils of Mt. St. Helens this weekend!

Kristen + Tom / British-American Wedding

Kristen is a dear friend of ours. She’s as close to family as you can get without actually being related. Her impeccable taste is responsible for some of the best music to cross my ears over the past decade, and her card-making skills are second to none. She also gave us one of the most thoughtful wedding gifts we could have ever received.

We were a bit sad when she moved to England, but then she met Tom! It’s no surprise that she would marry such a rad guy. For a few years, we heard reports of a guy who loves travel & adventure, with a healthy-respect for Volkswagen camper-vans. When we finally met, Tom, with his charming smile & easy-going manner was as awesome as expected. Plus, our son idolized him for his vast knowledge of British children’s television programs.

These two spent a lot of time traveling around Europe together over the past few years, so it was only fitting for them to have a travel-themed wedding celebration. Kristen & Tom, we are so excited for all of your future adventures together!

Katie + Daniel / Mt. Hood Silcox Hut Wedding

April snows were plentiful this year, turning Katie & Daniel’s Spring wedding into a white wonderland. We started the day with photos around Timberline Lodge, then headed up to 7,000 ft. on the mountain for their ceremony and reception in the quaint & gorgeously-rustic Silcox Hut.

Rachel + Kori

There are so many phenomenal locations for portrait session in and around Portland, we sometimes forget that keeping it local works just as well. Plus, it’s a total bonus when our clients are in the neighborhood! For this session, we started at Rachel & Kori’s North Portland home. After photos with their pets at the house, we walked to one of their favorite neighborhood spots, The Box Social (which also happens to be one our favorite places to grab a cocktail), taking advantage of the great light & buildings along the way.  An evening well-spent, indeed!

Emily & Casey featured on the Wedding Chicks.

The scorchingly-hot & joyously-colorful wedding of Casey & Emily that we photographed last summer at Ft. Vancouver was recently featured by The Wedding Chicks.  Of course, this isn’t nearly as exciting as the news that this awesome couple just welcomed their new daughter into the world! We’re pretty fond of this dynamic duo, and so happy for them to start their family!

There was a great team of vendors that helped to make this wedding happen, in addition to all of the work put in by Emily, Casey, and their friends and family. Watertown Films created a beautiful film, which you can check out here. Coordination & event planning was provided by Carolyn of Canova Design. The bride’s hair & makeup was done by the lovely Stephanya Portukalian, and Jesse & Shawn with Event Team Entertainment pumped everyone up and brought the house down as usual.

If you like this couple’s style, you can view our entire blog post of their wedding or see them wading through frigid waters on Sauvie Island for a truly one-of-a-kind engagement session.

Christina + Matthew

For their engagement session, Christina & Matthew wanted a classic “night-at-the-theater” downtown feel. We started with drinks at the Heathman Hotel, and then hit the streets outside the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall. Some things never go out of style!

Liz + Gerardo

It was really fun to discover this area around Cape Horn in the Columbia River Gorge with Liz & Gerardo on such a stunning day! They were so enthusiastic about exploring this unique location, despite it being near freezing and more than a little windy. Such are the sacrifices we make for a beautiful mid-winter day in the Pacific Northwest!

Luanne & Daniel / Hamptons Wedding

Luanne and Daniel’s Hampton’s wedding was recently featured on Well Wed Magazine’s blog, so we thought we would share a few more from this couple’s art-deco & 1920’s inspired celebration! We loved our time in the Hamptons, and thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Lu & Dan’s families. Jewish weddings are a blast to photograph, with all of their ceremonies throughout the day & opportunities for group celebration, and we were there to catch it all from the Tisch & Bedecken to the Ketubah signing and their modern ceremony & reception!  Everything was held at the groom’s family’s home in Bridgehampton, and Luanne did an amazing job of designing the whole yard for a Gatsby-eque garden party. To top it all off, Luanne had a great idea for a twenties-inspired photobooth. After some collaboration, we created our first-ever “man-in-the-moon” photobooth, which was definitely a hit!
