Out soaking up the sun & exploring some of our favorite spots on the Washington side of the Columbia River Gorge.
Some couples meet through friends, or online, or even at a bar. Well, John & Bridie met on a boat at a sailing race. Needless to say, there wasn’t much doubt about how we should approach their engagement photos. We met up on a long Summer evening and got out and set sail on the Willamette River just outside downtown Portland for some truly unique photos. Their wedding also proved to be one of our most unique of the year, so stay tuned!
A Texan girl meets a Northeast boy and they set out for a life of adventure together in the Pacific Northwest . . . Jen and Seth spend a lot of their free time exploring the mountains, beaches and forests of their new home, so it was a natural choice to head out to the Columbia River Gorge for their engagement photos. We visited some well-known landmarks, as well as a few off-the-beaten path favorites, and it was so much fun to share this unique landscape with these new friends!
Spring delivered a fresh blanket of snow for this session with Lauren & Andrew at Mt. Bachelor. Which is awesome, because that is the one request they had for this shoot (thank-you Mother Nature)! We also explored Bend’s Shevlin Park underneath the towering pines and enjoyed an awesome afternoon in the beauty of Central Oregon.
I recently had the opportunity to spend a morning and afternoon with this sweet couple to shoot some engagement photos at their home in San Francisco & around the city. We started off in their SOMA apartment while Jonathan prepared breakfast-in-bed for Suzette & demonstrated his pancake-flipping prowess. (If you take a look at the magazine photos, you may understand why Jonathan is the cook of the family.) We then hit the streets & headed to the beach, with a stop off at the rugged Sutro Baths in between. It was quite a day, and an awesome way to get to know these two. Suzette & Jonathan, thank you for inviting me into your home and sharing your city!
Thanks to Laurie, Dan, and the Portland Fire Bureau for giving us this opportunity to make some unique images! At Dan’s suggestion, we decided to drop by our local neighborhood fire station on our way to catch the sunset on Sauvie Island. No big deal. I’m really looking forward to this fun couple’s wedding in the foothils of Mt. St. Helens this weekend!
There are so many phenomenal locations for portrait session in and around Portland, we sometimes forget that keeping it local works just as well. Plus, it’s a total bonus when our clients are in the neighborhood! For this session, we started at Rachel & Kori’s North Portland home. After photos with their pets at the house, we walked to one of their favorite neighborhood spots, The Box Social (which also happens to be one our favorite places to grab a cocktail), taking advantage of the great light & buildings along the way. An evening well-spent, indeed!
