The first time I met Ryan, I remember feeling like I had known him for years, although we were photographing a wedding together for the first time. Our photographic styles really worked well together, and we discovered the results were a more complete wedding story. His character shines through in his work: spontaneous, yet calculated. I soon realized that life, including photography, is an adventure when you know Ryan! I am continually amazed & inspired.

Joelle is the conceptural artist of the team, holding a BFA in creative photography. She has a strong sense of design, and I am always amazed at the patterns, textures, form, and beauty she sees in her surroundings & captures in her photographs. Her calm demeanor & careful observation is a wonderful compliment to my bold, more interactive approach with people. She is also a master-retoucher & will make you look your absolute best in your photos! She has influenced my life & work in many ways and I could not dream of a better partner.
FAQ
Are you two married?

Yes, we met in 2003 (while photographing a wedding. . . suprise, surprise) and were married three years later!

Have you always photographed weddings together?

We had both been photographing weddings professionally for a few years before we met, but once that happened it was pretty obvious fate would have us working side-by-side. Nowadays, Ryan is available as a single photographer for smaller wedding bookings. Joelle is happy to have a few free weekends for extra fun-time with our kids!

Are you formally trained?

Yes, and no. Joelle holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a focus in creative photography. Ryan holds a degree in a (relatively) unrelated field, but used his photography skills to pay the bills throughout his college years & realized just weeks before graduation that photography held more appeal & intrigue than any of the other professions he was interested in. We have over 20 years of combined professional experience, and have been photographing weddings together for 10 years.

Do you travel?

YES! We love to travel & work in new & exciting places. We have photographed weddings in many domestic & international locations. Our passports are current, and we always welcome requests for destination weddings! For weddings that require overnight travel, we generally charge a travel fee to cover airfare, 1 or 2 nights lodging, and any extra transportation costs in addition to our normal photography fee. Please let us know if you would like a quote!

Do you shoot film or digital?

We prefer to use digital equipment when photographing weddings, although we both come from film-photography backgrounds and do love keeping our skills fresh without having to peek into an LCD screen! If you are interested in film for your wedding, whether it be traditional medium-format, Holga, or Polaroid, please let us know. We would love to discuss some creative options with you!

Do we get to keep our wedding images?

Yes, all of our collections include high-resolution digital files of your images for you to keep & print for personal use. We also offer a range of beatiful print & album products that we would love to create for you if you are interested.

How many images will we receive?

A typical wedding will result in 500-700 delivered images.

Do you have backup equipment?

Absolutely. We work with multiple camera bodies & lenses, and always bring extra equipment to cover for unforseen contingencies.

What do we need to do to secure our date?

First, get in touch with us to inquire about date availability & get a conversation going about what you are looking for. A retainer of 50% is required to reserve your date.
