What a day for a sunny springtime wedding! Michal and Bryant were married at Portland’s Columbia Edgewater Country Club. This was one of the most boisterous group of guys we have photographed in a while! Despite the groomsmen’s antics, Michal glowed with a graceful beauty the entire day. The day was also full of surprises including a mariachi band, dart-gun ambush on the dance-floor, and Bryant’s spontaneous rendition of Prince’s Kiss (thankfully, not at the same time)!
Semiahmoo is a small spit of land in northernmost Washington where the sky, land, and sea collide in an impressively beautiful way. Jessika & Steinar celebrated their mid-summer wedding here with bursts of laughter & bright colors, hula-hooping, dancing, a photobooth, twirling-ribbons, and, perhaps most importantly, ice-cream sandwiches!
Kendra & Nixon had a full wedding day. Starting with a traditional Vietnamese tea ceremony at Nixon’s parent’s home, followed by a ceremony on Portland’s waterfront, and finished with an amazing dinner & reception at The Nines hotel. The wedding party traveled between all the events in style thanks to Double Decker PDX, and all the outfit & venue changes were coordinated flawlessly by Nadia Ly. We had a great time spending the day with them and taking advantage of the variety of excellent locations!

Over the past year, we have had the opportunity to shoot a number of weddings at the Silcox Hut on Mt. Hood. The uniqueness of this venue seems to be a magnet for fabulous weddings that share a similar recipe of wonderful people, intimate ceremonies, and charming, thoughtful details. Molly & Tyler’s February wedding definitely fit the bill! Some of their stand-out details included Molly wearing her grandmother’s fur wrap (which came in very handy for those outdoor photos!), cowbells for the guests to ring for after their first-kiss (a nod to the bride’s ski-racing days), and delicious macaroons nestled in individual glass jars at each place setting.
The intimacy of Silcox Hut is palpable, with everyone present feeling like an honored guest. It is hard to describe the feeling of a small group of family and friends gathered cozily together on the side of a mountain to celebrate a couple’s love and commitment to each other. We hope these photos capture a bit of that essence. Molly & Tyler explained it well when, making a toast to their guests at the evening’s end, they stated that everyone present was there for a reason and that they looked forward those continued relationships as they begin this new chapter in their lives together. It is a sentiment shared at many weddings, yet feels particularly genuine in this spectacular setting.
** Update — There were so many awesome images from this wedding that we had to post some more! Be sure to make it to the end of the post where you will see the bride’s brothers serenading the couple. They performed back-to-back a capella renditions of “Afternoon Delight” and “Almost Paradise”, complete with two-part harmonies. Needless to say, the crowed (and we) were awestruck! If we had a video, they would instantly be a YouTube sensation. **
We have been super-excited for Lindsay & Ethan’s wedding since the very first day we met with them. At that time, they described to us their plans for a unique urban wedding that immediately perked our ears. They decided to hold their ceremony and celebration on the rooftop of a parking garage in Portland’s Pearl District, with a commanding view of the river and downtown. A little unconventional? Yes, but that is exactly what we liked about it!
Fast-forward to 11 months later and Portland is facing a very stormy Labor Day weekend. During a week with lots of rain, and more forecasted for their wedding day, Lindsay & Ethan begrudingly made the call to look for a venue with a bit more shelter. A few days before the wedding, their coordinator Nadia of Creations by Ly, found a stunning venue that matched perfectly with their original intentions of using a unique and creative space. Their ceremony and celebration were held on the top floor of the newly-remodeled Fitzgibbon Glass Building, an open industrial loft with a commanding view of the Fremont Bridge.
Everyone had a wonderful time enjoying delicious food from Simpatica, and taking in the view of the stormy weather outside complete with an evening rainbow stretching across the Willamette. The bride and groom celebrated with joy and grace, never hinting their week had been full of uncertainty and quick-changes!

This post takes us back to the spring snows on Mt. Hood for Matt & Logan’s wedding at Timberline’s Silcox Hut. There were so many amazing details and stunning photos of the couple spread out over multiple blog posts that we did not get around to properly wrapping it all up. The photos below give you a glimpse of the glorious weather Matt and Logan awoke to on the morning after their wedding.
After a non-traditional send off involving snowballs in lieu of rice or bubbles (this was a complete surprise to the bride and groom, of course!), Matt & Logan took off down the mountain for their first ski–the first of many bluebird days together!
Nicole & Marcus recently married on a beautiful spring day, and were a pleasure to photograph. Their love and joyful spirit was evident the entire day and was hard not to capture in every image. You can tell these two really enjoy being with each other! Thank you, Marcus & Nicole, for including us in this day!

It has been so awesome to re-visit this wedding as we process all the images. We had such a great time with Bryan and Angela. And the light . . . . well, let’s just say it’s rare to get such wonderful light here in Oregon. It is astounding to me how it can be crisp, clear, and hold a soft glow all at the same time! It must be that Carribean air! Needless to say, we have a lot of favorites (hence the multiple blog posts)!
This installment brings us to the ceremony, and a few photos of Bryan since we dedicated an entire earlier post to his beautiful bride. Enjoy!
Kelly & Eric’s December wedding was a bit on the chilly side. That didn’t stop them from getting out to enjoy some late-afternoon light! We even took advantage of some awesome holiday lights near their reception.

Stephanie and Josh were married at Brasada Ranch in Central Oregon on an absolutely AMAZING November day. We enjoyed beautiful fall light all day, and temperatures around 60 degrees. Pretty unreal for central Oregon at that time of year–this wonderful couple definitely deserved it!
