Being avid snowboarders from sunny San Diego, Danielle & Marty loved the thought of getting married on a snowy mountain. Silcox Hut on Mt. Hood perfectly matched the bill. Their mountainside ceremony was an intimate affair with friends and family who had gathered there to spend the weekend playing on the mountain & celebrating with them. Danielle was dazzling in her gold (!) dress (Marty didn’t look too shabby either). It’s really refreshing to see a bride veer from the norm for a unique look–well done!
Talia & Pro were blessed with some of the most beautiful January weather in recent memory for their wedding day. Weather won’t make or break your wedding day, but such gorgeous weather is especially appreciated when your wedding takes place at 7,000 ft. on the side of Mt. Hood in the middle of winter! With mild temperatures & windless blue skies we were able to spend a lot of time outside on the snowy slopes. Once the sun set, everyone gathered in the Silcox Hut to celebrate this beautiful couple!
One of the best aspects of calling the Northwest home as a photograper is the diversity of amazing locations. Beautiful beaches, majestic mountains, cool towns, pastoral valleys . . . I’m sure you’ve heard it all before (but it’s true)! One of our favorite aspects of being wedding photographers is the rare opportunity to photograph weddings of friends. I say rare, because often we don’t even get to attend friends’ weddings due to prior bookings. You may think this could be perceived as unenjoyable work to us, but it is quite the contrary. We love the opportunity to capture the spirit and moments of a wedding for all of our clients, but it is especially rewarding when you have a special connection and history with the bride and groom. All this aligned in April when we were able to photograph the wedding of our dear friends Matt & Logan on Mt. Hood!
Being avid moutain folk (Matt hails from Central Oregon, and Logan from Colorado), they chose Silcox Hut at Timberline as the epicenter for their wedding celebration. Their family and friends converged there for an intimate celebration under the stars and the peak of Mt. Hood. It encompassed everything the Oregon Cascades have to offer in spring: a little snow, a little sun, and nice conditions for a ski back to the lodge the next morning! Logan also put a ton of time into many thoughtful details that warrant their own blog post, so stay tuned for more. For the time being, we hope you enjoy some images of this amazing couple!
Taking full advantage of the lovely weather, we recently met up with Kristin & David for a shoot down on Portland’s riverfront. They were true naturals in front of the camera, and we had a blast. Thanks Kristin & David, we are looking forward to your wedding in May!
It has been so awesome to re-visit this wedding as we process all the images. We had such a great time with Bryan and Angela. And the light . . . . well, let’s just say it’s rare to get such wonderful light here in Oregon. It is astounding to me how it can be crisp, clear, and hold a soft glow all at the same time! It must be that Carribean air! Needless to say, we have a lot of favorites (hence the multiple blog posts)!
This installment brings us to the ceremony, and a few photos of Bryan since we dedicated an entire earlier post to his beautiful bride. Enjoy!
We are excited to photograph Nicole and Marcus’ wedding this weekend. They are such an easygoing couple and a lot of fun to work with. We met up with them earlier this month for their engagement session in the Columbia River Gorge, and despite passing rain-squalls a great time was had by all. Thank you, Marcus and Nicole for being so relaxed despite the crazy Oregon spring weather!
Kelly & Eric’s December wedding was a bit on the chilly side. That didn’t stop them from getting out to enjoy some late-afternoon light! We even took advantage of some awesome holiday lights near their reception.
